Smaller towns in area are charging less for gasoline The smaller towns around Madisonville are leading the way in fuel price drops, in some places by as much as 19 cents per gallon on regular unleaded gas. Diesel is lower as well, and in one instance was observed at $2.39 per gallon. One man who stopped by the office said he bought regular unleaded at Woody's in Centerville on Sept. 23 for $2.14 per gallon, and in the Houston area, prices have dropped to below $2 per gallon. Riverside and Trinity recorded most of the lower prices over the weekend, followed by Huntsville.
