PAMELA KAY ADAIR Dec. 1, 1955 - Sept. 16, 2006 Funeral services for Pamela Kay Adair, 50, of Austin, were held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Madisonville Funeral Home Chapel. Lanier Stevens officiated. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery near Lovelady. Pam was born on Dec. 1, 1955, in Baytown to Wera Leonard Herrera and Henry Grady Adair and passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, in Austin after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was raised in Baytown and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. After high school, she received a scholarship to attend Kilgore School of Nursing, where she earned her LVN license. Pam worked for several years for Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview. She had lived in Austin for the past eight years and was active in the Assembly of God Church. Pam loved taking care of people and enjoyed her work. Most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Frank Herrera, and her father and stepmother, Grady and Oleta Adair. Pam is survived by her loving daughter, Katy Michelle Adair of Madisonville; Katy's father, Tommy Clevenger of Houston; mother, Wera Wanda Herrera of Madisonville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maurita and Cleve Turner of Midway and Wanda and Chuck Siems of Crockett; and two nieces, Lewanda Sullivan and husband Mike of Houston, and Tiffany Turner of Madisonville. Pallbearers were Jimmy Cook, John Williams, James Caldwell, James Jeffries, Bruce Thacker and Reed Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Jack Starns, Phillip Grisham and James Fraley.
