Miranda Jarrell has one of those smiles that can light up a room and seems to have a perpetual suntan. Now she also has a softball scholarship to play at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls after signing her letter of intent on April 12.

Jarrell has been playing softball just about as long as she can recall. She credits Avengers Coach Curtis O'Brien for giving her game an added empetus.

“Curtis taught me just about everything,” said Miranda after she'd signed her scholarship letter. “He still helps me out with a lot of things.”

Jarrell has played ASA ball since age eight, and under Coach Kristen Hooten at MHS she's exceled at shortstop. She plays the outfield in ASA ball.

“They told me I'd do the same at Midwestern, and that I'd start as a freshman,” added Jarrell, who wants to major in kinesiology and coach high school ball when she graduates.

Miranda is the daughter of Kevin and Frances Jarrell and has a younger brother, Mason Kye and younger sister, Kacelyn.
