Saturday is city election day here and in Midway By noon Tuesday, only 58 people had turned out to cast ballots in early voting in the Madisonville City Council election despite extended voting hours Monday and Tuesday with polls staying open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.By the end of early voting in the 2007 election, 146 ballots had been cast. There are two mayoral candidates and eight at-large city council candidates seeking office this year. Incumbent Mayor Sonny Dean is seeking re-election, and is challenged by Patti Womble Jones. Seeking council seats are incumbent Terri Creel along with Milton Andrus, Donalyn Bussar, John Johnson, Donnie Myrick, Fred Randle, Terry Don Rogers and David Williams. On Saturday, polls will be open at city hall from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. All voting will take place at that location. Midway City Hall will be the site of that town's election Saturday, with polls also open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
