Keep Madison County Beautiful resumes awards

Keep Madison County Beautiful has resumed its practice of choosing a spot of the month, both business and residential, to recognize those who consistently attain excellence in keeping their property clean and attractive. Winners for May are Lloyd and Irene Whitmire for best residential spot, and Legends Steakhouse for best business.

Keep Madison County Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful, a statewide community improvement, litter prevention and beautification organization. KMCB was formed in October 2007, replacing Keep Madisonville Beautiful. Programs it oversees besides Spot of the Month include Adopt a Spot (a group or individual keeps part of a street clean), Adopt a County Mile (a group or individual keeps part of a road or highway clean), the Green Team (an anti-litter campaign) and an annual garden show and seminar.
