First United Methodist Church will host its Vacation Bible School June 16-19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids going into kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome. The Juneteenth parade will be held June 19 starting from the lake house at Lake Madison at 10 a.m. Churches, businesses, organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate with a float, vehicle, marching unit or bike. Madison County Historical Commission is seeking those who served in the military during World War II, also those who served in defense-related factories, nursing and civil defense organizations. The American Legion Family meets the first Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Hall at 800 N. May at 6:30 p.m.

Madisonville VFW Post 8233 meets at the post building, 1300 N. May, every third Tuesday at 7 p.m.

There will be no June monthly meeting of the Madison County Republican Party because the Republican State Convention will be held in Houston that month. Meetings will resume in July.
