NZ school board spots up for grabs

The Election Division has released the November 2008 Election Law Calendar, containing important information on the official deadlines relevant to the upcoming North Zulch election.

Because of changes in election laws, the North Zulch ISD School Board election will be included in the general election held Nov. 4. 

The first day to file an application for a place on the ballot began July 28. The filing deadline for the regular election is Tuesday, Aug. 26. Deadline for declaration of write-in candidacy is Friday, Aug. 29.

Positions to be posted for this election will be School Board places 1, 2, 6, and 7.  If there are no contested positions the recommended first day to cancel the school board election will be Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Early voting in person will begin Monday, Oct. 20. The North Zulch ISD will provide an early voting place in the North Zulch Elementary Building, Room 101. The county will provide clerks and voting machines for the two-week period of voting by personal appearance.

Early voting in person will end Friday, Oct. 31.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, voters may cast their vote in the Senior Citizen meeting area of the North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department.
