Little Rock Baptist Church of Connor community invites the public to their annual revival Aug. 6-8 at 7:30 p.m. each evening to hear evangelist Rev. F.C. Holiday, Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Houston. Homecoming Sunday will be Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Jerry High, Pastor of Lake View Baptist Church of Madisonville.

A Christian Arts Camp will be held Aug. 6-9 at The Abiding Place Retreat & Conference Center in Buffalo. Lessons will be available for art, dance, music, photography, writing videography, sign language and more. The Texas Renaissance Festival 2008 Job Fair will be held Saturday, Aug. 9-10, on FM 1774, between Magnolia and Plantersville, 50 miles northwest of Houston. The MC/MA Alumni will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Building, 900 Amos St. Plans will be made at the meeting for the school reunion that will take place Oct. 4-5, 2008. For more information, call 936-348-2111.

The monthly meeting of the Madison County Republican Party will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m.  at the Madison County Courthouse. There will be two guest speakers: Rob Curnock, Republican candidate for Congress, CD 17; and Rex Davis, candidate for the 10th Court of Appeals.  Everyone is invited to come and meet the candidates.

Wildlife Symposium and Wild Game Dinner will be Aug. 22, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Madison County Fairgrounds, hosted by Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Madison County's Beef & Forage Committee. Speakers are Dr. Don Renchie, Game Warden Dornell Crist, Linda Tscherhart-Hejl and more. RSVP by Aug. 15. The cost is $15, and attendees may pay at the door. Counts for three CEUs: two Laws & Regs and one IPM.

A family-oriented variety program “An Evening with Sorin” will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Truman Kimbro Center in Madisonville.
