Best representative heeds people

On November 4, the people of America will take to the polling places and elect their representatives. The question they have to ask themselves is who will represent them best, given the choices? Many will make the mistake of going with their party regardless of whom their candidate is, but remember that we should be electing representatives of the people, and not parties.

By definition, a representative of the people is one who speaks and acts on behalf of the people, and does their bidding. So, what representative of the people would best represent me? A representative of the people who understands that the people are the deciders, and he/she is to heed their will, and not the other way around. A representative of the people who wants to help the homeless become homeowners, and not the other way around. A representative of the people who understands that jobs need to stay in this country and products need to be exported, and not the other way around. A representative of the people who demonstrates global leadership by power of example, and not the other way around. A representative of the people who believes healthcare is a right and medical profiteering is a crime, and not the other way around. A representative of the people who believes wages should be high and prices should be low, and not the other way around.

We've already suffered through eight years of the other way around, and all John McCain is offering as a reward for your party loyalty is at least four more years of the other way around.
