Kids trot to health

Madisonville Intermediate School held its eighth annual Turkey Trot, a footrace for all three grades, third through fifth.

The event happened on Monday, Nov. 17, and was directed by coach Julie Kohr. The length of the race was adjusted to fit each age group. Even kids in wheelchairs or unable to run for health reasons were helped around the track by others.

This year, Kohr also gave awards for those showing best sportsmanship and those who had decorated themselves in imaginative ways. One child, for example, had glued colorful feathers to her shirt. Prizes were awarded the following day.
