Roxanne McKnight with The Meteor A man led a state trooper on a high-speed chase through Madisonville’s streets Monday night, but the excitement came to an abrupt end when the driver turned onto a dead-end street. Dwan Boyette Yell, 35, of Normangee, evaded State Trooper Kurt Kelm who initially tried to stop Yell for driving on the wrong side of the roadway not passing about 10:50 p.m. on Dec. 8. As the two vehicles approached Madisonville, Kelm called the dispatcher to notify the Sheriff’s Office of the ongoing chase. Other law enforcement officers tried to intercept the car as Kelm kept updating the Sheriff’s Office of his location. Yell turned up one street and down another, Wilson, Collard, McIver and Madison streets. Then, however, Yell turned onto Ursuline Street, a one-block cul-de-sac, and he was forced to stop. Yell was arrested and charged with evading arrest using a motor vehicle.
