Roxanne McKnight with The Meteor A young woman was killed and her passenger injured when a tire on their car blew out Saturday as they drove on I-45 near Madisonville. The two were in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt going north near the 148 mile marker about 12:30 p.m. when the front left tire had a blowout. The driver, Glenda Patricia Reyes, 19, of Houston overcorrected and lost control as the car rolled onto the side of the highway. Reyes was severely injured and was taken by air ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, where she died at 2:50 p.m. The passenger, Jose Mateis, 37, of Arlington, was also hurt. He was taken to Madison St. Joseph Hospital in Madisonville with back injuries.
