The intersection of Hwy. 21 and Derby Lane was the scene of an accident Friday morning involving Crockett drivers.

On June 29, DPS Troopers, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies and Madisonville Police Department officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:40 a.m. The highway was temporarily closed as emergency personnel responded and reopened shortly thereafter.

According to a DPS report, Jeanette Seale, 84, of Crockett was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 21 Friday morning. Meanwhile, Mychal Settlemyre, 20, also of Crockett, was heading westbound from the opposite direction with two passengers.

Seale then reportedly turned left at the intersection with Derby Lane and struck the side of Settlemyre’s car. Settlemyre and her passengers were inside as the vehicle rolled over several times on the pavement.

No fatalities were reported in the accident, but Settlemyre and her vehicle’s occupants were transported to Madison St. Joseph Hospital to have injuries treated. DPS Trooper Ben Wolf was the chief investigator on the scene.
