Lena “LaNell” Haire was 91 years, 2 months and 2 days. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lena (Lander) Baker; stepmother, Linnie Rigsby Baker; brothers, Donald, James and Vernon Baker; sisters, Mozelle Culbert, Fannie Farris, Ollie Swanner, and Betty Blackwell; husband, Carl Blake; and grandson, Joshua Blake Longley.

Wanda Lanette Matthews was born to Bedford and Grace (Stanley) Sharp on February 18, 1937 in Liberty, Texas. In 1953, she met and married the love of her life, Leonard Ray Matthews. They went on to grow their family between 1956 and 1962, welcoming Sheryl, Brenda, Bubba and Cathy. In 1963, they moved to Iola, Texas where they resided for the next forty-two years. In 2006, she moved to Humble, Texas to an active senior living community until her passing on June 14, 2023, where she was surrounded by her loved ones.

Rickey Tinney; 70 years; of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Sunday; June 18, 2023 in Madisonville, TX. The funeral services are scheduled for 2PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX with the burial to follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, TX. Bro. Billy Ray Skains, age 77, of Houston, Texas passed away June 17, 2023 surrounded in love by his family. A funeral service celebrating his life was held 10 A.M., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Neil Davis officiated the service, and interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery outside of Normangee, Texas.

Walter Carrington Price, age 81, of Bedias, Texas, passed away June 13, 2023, in Bryan, Texas, following an extended illness. A funeral service celebrating Walter’s life was held at 10 A.M., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Church of Singleton.

Bobbie Ann (McWhorter) Souther, 78 of North Zulch, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, peacefully at home with her daughter by her side. Bobbie was born on August 23, 1944, in North Zulch, Texas, to Buell Dorman and Mary Lillian (Martin) McWhorter.

Barbara Ann (Genzer) McVey; 76 years, 9 months, 22 days; of Madisonville; passed away on Wednesday; June 7, 2023 in College Station. Barbara’s life will be celebrated at 1PM on Sunday; June 11, 2023, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville with the visitation scheduled to begin at 12PM prior to the service.

William Ray “Bill” Surface was born September 10, 1933 in Houston, TX. He went to be with the Lord June 3, 2023 in Huntsville, TX. Bill was born to George Lester Surface Sr and Della Mae Hastings Surface. He was the third of six children.

James Marvin 'Cowboy' Williams passed from this life on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 1:20 a.m. after a brief illness at the age of 96 years at his home on his prized Bar W Ranch in Bedias, Texas.
