Funeral services for Mrs. A. Marie Hargrave of Bedias, were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Madisonville Christian Fellowship Church in Madisonville. The Revs. Wade Phillips, David Medina and Jerald Brown officiated. Burial followed in the Bedias Baptist Cemetery. A visitation was held at Madisonville Funeral Home on Monday evening.

Mrs. Hargrave was born on May 22, 1925, in San Augustine, to Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Goines, and died Feb. 5, 2016, in College Station, at the age of 90 years, eight months and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Henry B. Hargrave; a brother, M.L. Goines; three sisters, Frankie Thomas, Bernice Lozier and Emogene Hall; and a great-grandson, Christopher Williams.

She lived most of her life in the Bedias area and was a member of the Madisonville Christian Fellowship Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and painting. Mrs. Hargrave and her husband were very strong in their Christian faith.

Surviving family includes three sons, Henry M. Hargrave (wife, Paula) of Bedias, Tommy Hargrave (wife, Nobuko) of Mason, Ohio, and Dennis Hargrave (wife, Kathy) of Palestine; three sisters, Ailene Maner, Madie Alston (husband, Clyde) and Shirley McVey, all of Madisonville; brother-in-law, David Hall of Athens, Texas; sisters-in-law, Viola Goines of Huntsville and Faye Hargrave of Plantersville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Hargrave is also survived by many friends in Bedias and by her church family at the Madisonville Christian Fellowship Church.

Pallbearers will be Hank Hargrave, Darryl Hargrave, Charles Hargrave, James Hargrave, Dennis Hargrave, Bailey Murphy, Darryl and Luke Hargrave. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.
