Another round of COVID-19 tests arriving in county Wednesday

Posted

The Texas Department of Health Services will offer another day of drive-through swab testing for the COVID-19 virus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the MCISD bus barn, according to Madison County Emergency Managment Coordinator Shelly Butts.

Appointments are necessary and only accepted within 24 hours of the testing.  The state will have 60 tests available, Butts said, also encouraging each household limit testing to one person in order to test as many households as possible.

So far, there have been 57 tests performed in Madison County, with only one confirmed case of the novel coronavirus and four results still pending.

According to Butts, the TDHS reassigned one of the county's confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the county back to one.

That case, Butts said, is now classified as "recovered."
