Madison County 4-H Horse Club Update

The Madison County 4-H Horse Club experienced a special treat for its November meeting and workshop. Club members toured locally-owned CrossFit Equine, a state-of-the-art equine treatment facility.

“The purpose of this facility is therapy, rehab and conditioning,” said owner David Hammit.

Facility manager Amber Jones, assisted by Kassidy Lovell and Shanie Prajoda, explained and demonstrated the facility’s array of equipment and its uses.

The Horse Club would like to express its thanks to the Hammit family for hosing this informative tour.

Mobile Mammography Coming to HealthPoint in Madisonville

The Rose Mobile Mammography Program, in partnership with HealthPoint, will be providing onsite mammograms at the health center at 100 West Cross Street in Madisonville on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The Rose is able to provide no-cost mammograms for women who qualify through a grant funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to serve uninsured, low-income women ages 40 and up who live in Madison County and have never had a mammogram or it has been 2-plus years since their last one.

“This is a perfect opportunity for women to take advantage of this important screening being offered in their own community and to connect with a local healthcare provider if they do not already have one,” said The Rose liaison Stephanie Wehring.

To be screened at this mobile mammography event, you must be a patient of HealthPoint. Those who are interested in becoming a patient of HealthPoint may contact them to learn more about the registration process and request an eligibility appointment.

There are a limited number of mammogram appointments, so don’t delay in making yours today!  For more information and to register for an appointment, please contact HealthPoint at 936-348-3418.

The Rose is a nonprofit breast health organization providing screenings and diagnostic services in Houston and throughout southeast Texas. To learn more about The Rose, visit
