FORT WORTH — Three Madisonville youth were honored recently at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

James Kendel Cleere, a local 4-H member, exhibited the reserve champion junior heifer in the “junior other recorded heifer” category. Logan Choiniere, a Madisonville FFA member, showed the reserve champion senior heifer in the junior Brahman show, and Madison Paige Counsil, a 4-H member, exhibited the Division III champion in the junior Limousin Show.

The students competed last month against junior exhibitors from 238 counties, competing for awards and $143,940 in premiums, according to a news release from the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

“Cultivating tomorrow’s business and civic leaders goes to the core of the purpose of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo,” said the stock show president, Brad Barnes. “Our commitment to these young men and women remains strong and we’re humbled that so many Texas youth choose to exhibit.”

More than 11,000 exhibitors competed this year, representing 29,000 entries.
