A 26-year-old Houston woman was arrested Saturday in connection with the robbery of the Subway sandwich shop.
Madisonville Police Chief Herbert Gilbert said the department was notified at about 6 p.m. of the incident.
“A young lady passing through (Madisonville) from Dallas to Houston stopped at the Subway in the 3300 block of Highway 21,” Gilbert said. “She enters the building, orders a meal and then supposedly decided to rob the place.”
Gilbert said the suspect demanded money from the cash register, which was given to her by the employee. About $100 was taken.
“She had no weapon, but made out like she had one,” he said.
Law enforcement officers were in area, Gilbert said, and the suspect, who headed back toward Dallas for some reason, was spotted on the feeder road.
Jessica M. Davis, 26, of Houston, was then taken into custody. She was booked into Madison County Jail on a charge of robbery, a third-degree felony, and was being held on a $7,500 bond.
