Bedias Christmas Parade a hit

Posted

Our annual Bedias Christmas Parade last Saturday was a wonderful time for young and old alike. Festivities started with a delicious pancake breakfast at the Civic Center. Then the parade followed with the entire community participating or cheering on the sidelines. And all of this was followed by a visit with Santa at the Civic Center with photos, Christmas cookies and refreshments.

Please go to our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/BediasCivicClub, for more information and photos of the day.

•Heads Up: One very unlikely weather prediction calls for 22 inches of snow on Christmas Day in our area … But even if it turns out to be warm and clear, please look out for each other and share the love and spirit of the season with everyone you meet.

•The Shiloh Baptist Church at Pankey offered their annual Christmas play last Sunday evening. The play, titled “A Christmas Museum,” was a wonderful community event and was followed by finger foods, and refreshments afterwards.

•Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Dec. 10, Second Sunday Christian Movie night at Miller’s Theatre, in downtown Navasota. Our showing was “Chasing the Star,” a new film by D.J. Perry, and starring Gary Nation. Nation, who portrayed Melchior in the film, was with us for this showing and was so generous to offer an introduction and a Q&A after the film.

Please go to our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/BediasTexasChristianFilmFestival, for more information.

At this time, we are unsure about the day, time and place for the January Christian Movie Night, as Miller’s Theatre may not be available to us during the change of ownership process. We have received a very generous offer to share our films at Pastor Sanders Church, Faith Outreach Christian Center, at 11596 Highway 6 in Navasota, and our planned film showing will be “The Shack.” We will be sure to share more information in the next couple of weeks.

We have been so fortunate to have the support of David and Rebecca Marlow (the present operators of Miller’s Theatre) and local pastors, such as Henry Sanders and Mac Vaughn, without their help and support we would have not been able to share our nearly 50 wonderful films free of charge and open to everyone in our community.

Miller’s Theatre offers great family films every weekend. Please come out to support great movies in our community. Go to www.MillersTheatre.com for the latest program information and updates.

•Do you have a community or church event you would like included in our weekly column? We would love to share your news with our readers.
