Bennie Lee (Barton) Spiller, 91, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Conroe. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, at Madisonville City Cemetery at 11 a.m. Lanier Stevens will officiate.
Bennie was born on Aug. 9, 1924, to Ben and Occie Mae (Barrett) Barton in Madisonville. She moved to Houston for business school and worked at the First National Bank of Houston. She met her husband of 54 years, Franklin, and they were married on Dec. 26, 1947. Bennie was a good mother and a loyal wife, baking, cooking, cleaning, ironing and serving every day. She became a very good beautician. She had a shop in her back yard and her customers were her friends forever. She worked in her beauty shop up into her 70s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Florence.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Aldrich; her son, Mike Spiller; her granddaughter, Jenna Brown; her grandson, Jason Jones; and great-grandchildren June, London and Ben.
