Bulldogs use win to prepare for tourney play

The North Zulch Bulldog basketball team started fast and raced to the finish line last Tuesday night at home against Milano. It took North Zulch just under three minutes into the second quarter to race out to a double-digit lead, and that set the tone for a 57-49 victory over the Eagles.

Gerhart Wiese recorded another double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Cole Weaver had 17 points. Trey Crocker had nine points and grabbed five rebounds. Junior Tye Douga added six points and eight rebounds.

“I thought we played hard against Milano,” said Head Coach David Graves after the win Tuesday night. “We need to work on taking better care of the ball. Turnovers have been a major issue for [us] as of late, but if we can clean [those] up we’ll be in good shape.”

The Bulldogs (2-3) will host the NZ Tournament this Thursday through Saturday at Bulldog gym. “Our schedule is tough, but it was built to prepare us. So we are looking forward to the challenge.”

Lady Bulldogs

The holiday season is here. Along with presents, good food and plenty of family time, this is also the season for high school basketball tournaments. This weekend will be chock-full of action as the Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to co-host the NZ Tournament with the boys’ varsity basketball team Thursday through Saturday at Bulldog gym.
