This years’ Iola Fun Day will be Oct. 21. This is always a wonderful family friendly event the weekend of homecoming. There will be quite a few events taking place this year so make sure you mark your calendars. More details to come.
•Student Council will be hosting a Blood Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Annex Teacher's Lounge. Contact Mrs. Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to sign up.
Little Diggers registration is now open. Second- through sixth-grade girls are eligible to participate in Iola Youth Athletics Little Diggers. The cost is $35 for the first child and $30 for siblings. Games will be played every Saturday in Iola, Anderson or Madisonville. Practices are at the discretion of the coaches. Registration deadline is Sept. 5. After Sept. 5, there will be a $15 late fee. Payment is due upon registration. Your child will not be placed on a team without payment. Forms and payment may be returned to the front office at the elementary school. Make checks payable to Iola Youth Athletics.
If you would like your business or family on the back of the team shirts, please add $75 to your registration fee. All parents are expected to work a minimum of one shift, at each home game, during set up, door, clock or clean up. Forms are available at the elementary school office, and will also go home in your child’s folders.
•Elementary School will no longer have a microwave available to students, this comes because of our audit last year and Region IV suggestions.
There will be a $5 charge limit. Please make sure to check your students account regularly.
Breakfast will be served from 7:20 to 7:55 a.m., and breakfast will not be served after 7:55 a.m.
We will see a slight increase in price this year for lunch. Elementary will be $ 2.60; High School will be $2.85.
•We will be offering ice cream on Fridays this year. This will be cash-only — the cost will be 75 cents.
•Many local churches are accepting donations for Woodsboro ISD.
•Junior varsity and varsity volleyball will play in Normangee Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
Varsity football will face Bremond Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Junior varsity and varsity volleyball will host Grapeland on Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.
