Carl Blakley Sr., 69, of Madisonville, passed away on Sept. 14, 2017, at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Powers Chapel Cemetery in Cedar Springs. Jim Parrish will officiate. A visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville.
Carl was born Aug. 12, 1948, in Rosebud, to Lammie and Cordia (Downes) Blakley. He served his country in The United States Army during the Viet-Nam War and was a life-time mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, racing cars, restoring antique cars, shooting pool, and playing with his grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Johnny Blakley; his sister-in-law, Dianne Zacharian; and two great-grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife, June (Purvis) Blakley; his brother-in law, Donnie; his son, Carl Jr. and family; his daughter, Brandy and family; his son, Paul Michael and family; his son, Billy Joe and family; his daughter, Amy and family; his daughter, Carla and family; his daughter, Rhonda and family; his son, Ricky and family; his daughter, Courtney and family; his son, Ronnie and family, his son, David and family; his son, Michael and family; his sisters, Waunice and family, Virginia and family, and Maxine and family; his brother, J.R. Blakley and family; 51 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are J.R. Blakley, Tony Loa, Paul Michael Blakley, David Young, Michael Young, Carson Davis, Jonathan Blakley and Dakota Blakley.
