Carl F. Haldt, 66, of Bedias, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, in Bryan. Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 29, at Day Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Don Grigsby officiated. Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 1, at National Cemetery in Houston.
Carl was born on Sept. 4, 1949, in Bedias, to Winfield Scott Haldt and Francis A. (Schmidt) Haldt. Carl was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and had been a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars & Legion. He started Amvets in Bedias, he began the very first blood drive between military and civilians in Fort Hood.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, William Haldt.
Carl is survived by his wife Glenda (Norwood) Haldt; son Michael Haldt and wife, Cassie; his brothers, Charles Haldt and wife, Jonnie, James Haldt, and Leslie Haldt and wife, Violet; his sisters, Becky Rajhansa, Caroline Johnson and husband, Richard, M-lisa Haldt, Barbara Haldt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
