The first Sandra Standley Golf Scramble was held Saturday at the Oak Ridge Country Club. Friends and family, young and old, came out in droves for the chance to participate in the tournament and golf-themed luncheon.
“This is the first [fundraiser] ever; but it won’t be the last!” said Jan Ward. “[Sandra] deserves this.”
More than 50 players competed in the golf scramble, and 130 attended a luncheon, all helping to raise more than $26,000 for the country club, where Sandra Standley’s late husband was a founding member.
“This is 100 percent in honor of Sandra Standley, who has done so much for us,” said Oak Ridge Country Club board president Dave Ward. “It was a huge success. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
