Darrell R. Hall, 91, of Madisonville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, in Bryan. A funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 2, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Lanier Stevens officiated the service, and Mr. Hall was laid to rest in the Bedias Methodist Cemetery in Bedias.
Darrell R. Hall was born on Dec. 4, 1925, in Bedias. His parents were Leroy Washington and Effie Elanor (Bracewell) Hall. He grew up in Bedias and began his career as the owner of a furniture store in Bedias. Mr. Hall later bought the Ford dealership in Madisonville and ran it for more than 30 years. During that time, he became a land developer in Grimes, Madison and Leon counties. Mr. Hall possessed a strong work ethic his entire life. So much so that work subsequently grew into his hobby as well.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Sue Hall (Feb. 6, 2014); both of his parents; and his brothers, Adrian and Hulon Hall. He is survived by son, Roy Hall of Madisonville; daughters, Tammy and Joye Hall of Madisonville; grandchildren, Megan, Brittany and Macye Killough and Devin and Seth Padron; and great-grandchildren, Harmony Reagan, Andre Garrett, Kingsley Taylor and Kaylee and Devin Padron, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers were John Bankhead, William Killough, Curtis Park, Chase Cammack, Ryan Templeton and Tommy Parker.
