David Kelly, of Madisonville, was born to Lallie Morgan and Loyd Kelly on March 2, 1933, in Houston, and passed away June 30, 2016, at the age of 83. Funeral services were held July 6, 2016, at Madisonville Funeral Home, and burial followed at the Burrows Cemetery in Madison County. A visitation was held Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Madisonville Funeral Home.
Joe lived most of his life in Madison County, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army at a very early age. Joe went on to become a self-employed general contractor in the building business, and was a very hard worker. He bought and sold hides, enjoyed trail riding and also was a horse trader.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy Joe Kelly; a sister, Maggie Driver; and brothers, Jack Kelly, Colin Kelly and Robert Kelly. He is survived by wife, Lilia Baron of Madisonville; sons, Jerry N. Kelly (Sandy) of Madisonville and Johnny David Kelly (Linda) of Madisonville; daughters, Judy Martinez (Joe) of Madisonville and Barbara Jane Bullitt of Madisonville; brothers, Franklin "Bo" Kelly (Betty) of Madisonville and Loyd Kelly, Jr. (Geraldine) of Buffalo; sisters, Dolly Johnson of Bryan and Margie Robinson (Stanley) of Madisonville; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Warren Robinson, Travis Kelly, Henry Cool, Frank Kelly, Clint Kelly, Cole Kelly, Mitchell Kelly and Chuck Kelly.
Services are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.
