Funeral services for Esperanza Martinez Badillo, 82, of Madisonville, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. The Revs. Charleton Greene and Toni Green will officiate the service and interment will follow in the Madisonville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary, officiated by Deacon Steve Summers, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Esperanza Martinez Badillo was born on Sept. 15, 1933, in Rossville, to Esidro Martinez and Consuello Monroy. She was married to Francisco Ybarra Badillo on May 12, 1954, in San Antonio where she lived most of her life. She came to Madisonville in 2012 and attended the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Her husband, as one of the founding members of the church, was instrumental in the church’s formation in Madisonville. Mrs. Badillo enjoyed her family very much, as well as, taking care of her grandchildren. She also loved to cook and always had a tidy home. Mrs. Badillo passed away on April 22, 2016, in Madisonville following a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Francisco Ybarra Badillo; a son, Ramiro Badillo; and two brothers.
Surviving family members include sons, Carlos (Chris) Badillo of Bryan, Francisco (Rose) Badillo of Waco and Isidro Badillo of San Antonio; daughters, Gloria (Baudelio) Zarate of Madisonville and Esperanza (Maurice) Bellizare of Madisonville; and sisters, Consuelo Carrol and Amelia Tristan of San Antonio. Mrs. Badillo is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Badillo, Jason Badillo, Joe Badillo, David Badillo, Carlos Badillo Jr. and Keion Salas.
