More than a week of animal judging, rodeo competition and county fair events concluded Saturday, and organizers deemed it a success.
Heifer judging took place on Thursday, followed by a premium auction and buyers’ dinner Friday night. The annual freezer and scholarship sale was held Saturday morning.
Madison County Fair Association president Mike Corley said he was pleased with the turnout and participation.
“We had good weather and great kids,” Corley said. “As always, we had incredible support from the community.”
Corley, who will remain on the board until 2018, added that the youth participants raised more than $500,000 this year.
