Felix Clyde Alston, 91 of Madisonville, passed away on Dec. 9, 2017, in Madisonville. The visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, with Bro. Dale Underwood officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville.
Clyde was born on Jan. 4, 1926, in Leona, to James Felix and Kate (Haston) Alston. He graduated from Madisonville High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country proudly in World War II, the Korean War and The Vietnam War. Upon his retirement as master sergeant from Army, he worked for many years with The Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Oran Alston; his sister, Peggy Shauger; and his granddaughter, Melissia Everett.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Madie Lenora (Goines) Alston; his daughters, Angela Robins, Virginia Wallin and husband Jimmy, Patricia Snook and husband Glenn, Cecilia Baker and husband Terry, and Pamela Wallace; sisters, Martha White, Laverne Foster and Nancy Hummel; 10 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Murders, Shannon Bennett, Shaun Bennett, Brad Wallin, Jeremiah Ybarra, Jeremy McPeek, Matt Moore, Rusty Hummel, Stephen Hummel and Duane Wilkey. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Coty Davis, Dakota Everett, Dylan Drake, Dallas Drake, Townes McPeek, Ryder Bennett, Braeden Herron, Cash Moore, Jaylen Burns, Korben Murders and Auston Rucker.
