The Madisonville FFA Speaking Team competed in a competition over Zoom May 20 along with the district and area competitions, earning multiple top finishes and boasting six State Qualifiers.

FFA competes virtually

The Madisonville FFA Speaking Team competed in a competition over Zoom May 20 along with the district and area competitions, earning multiple top finishes and boasting six State Qualifiers.

The competition's Madisonville State Qualifiers included Kallie Tilton, Brinna Sims, Madi Caperton, Chase McBee (in two categories) and Clay Williams.

Tilton earned second in district and area in soil stewardship while Sims was first in district and area in plant science. Caperton was first in both district and area in agribusiness while McBee was first in district and area in ag policy and first in district and second in area in the extemporaneous category.

In natural resources, Brooke Huff finished third in district and area while Emma Hurst placed first in district and second in area in animal science. Layla Clark was second in district and fourth in area in the ag technology and communication category.

In other FFA news, Layla Clark was elected for district office as Second Vice President while the Talent Team of Colby Sheppard and Ethan Williams won second in district and third in area.

The FFA program also recently published their annual awards banquet program, which was done over video in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The video can be found in full on the school’s website.
