Finis Larrison


Finis Franklin Larrison, 94, of Huntsville, passed away Nov. 7, 2017, of heart complications.

Born in Madisonville on June 3, 1923, to Finis Floyd and Evie Wilson Larrison, he grew to become one of Huntsville’s most beloved citizens. In 1962, Finis opened Reliable Parts Co., building this business with his son, Jerry. He enjoyed a banking career later in life and served on several boards affecting the health and welfare of Walker County residents. He and his wife “Coot” were active members of First Baptist Church of Huntsville. The family is proud of his military service in World War II as a Merchant Marine. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a great passion for ranching. He supported the efforts of 4-H and FFA.

Known affectionately as “Buddy”, he was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Marie “Coot” Larrison; and his mother, Evie Larrison Wooten. He joins them in Heaven, along with his sister, Blandine Zachry and brother, Jeff “Jumbo” Larrison. He is survived by his brother, Joe Larrison; a son, Jerry Larrison and wife Barbara of Huntsville, and a daughter, Nancy Larrison and husband Patrick Napolitano of Round Rock. Finis treasured his family and is also survived by several grandchildren: Sandra Kaye and husband Col. Timothy Reese of Kingwood; Sheri Larrison and husband Barry Watson of Plano; Rachel Larrison and husband John Yarabeck of Huntsville; Jeffrey Leighton Maddox currently serving in Iraq; and Shane Patrick Napolitano and wife Shelly of Round Rock. His great-grandchildren are Blake Butzow of Pflugerville, Brandon Butzow and Madelyn Reese of Kingwood; Jake Kinstler and Noah Napolitano of Round Rock; Cooper and Mitchell Watson of Plano and Caroline Yarabeck of Huntsville. “PaPa Buddy” will be greatly missed.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or to your favorite Veterans’ organization.

Visitation was held Sunday at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 13, in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment followed the service at Brooke Cemetery in Huntsville.
