Fire destroys home, cars

An RV and two vehicles were destroyed in an early morning fire that broke out in the 1900 block of East Main Street.

Madisonville Fire Chief Thom Jones said that behind the house at that address, which also houses a lot of storage sheds, was a RV motor home, which caught fire at 2:20 a.m. Thursday.

The owner, Mike Stockman, told firefighters he woke up and the place was ablaze.

Madisonville and Midway fire crews responded, and were out a little more than 3 hours fighting the fire.

Jones said the motor home and contents, two vehicles and a shed were a total loss.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined, but still is under investigation; however, Jones said the home was burned beyond telling what the cause might be.
