Hats of to Madisonville Grads 2017

Posted

A new class of Madisonville High School Graduates walked the stage in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

“The ceremony was kind of unreal.  I still can’t believe I graduated.  I am so blessed to have been a part of such a great school system that insured the success of each and every student,” reflects graduated Senior, Dornell Crist.

From the Scholarship Ceremony, to the Baccalaureate, to the traditional commencement ceremony, with its cap and gown and congratulatory handshakes and hugs, Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District stands out.  The inclusion of all students, and driving them to success is made evident in the staff’s attention and devotion to helping each student succeed.

Graduating Senior, Kathleen Murphy closed out the ceremony with a strong, spiritual speech. Her closing remarks are noted here.

“As we go our separate ways today, I pray that we continue to walk along the pathway you have set for us and give all the glory to you.  Thank you for our time spent together, the friends we have made, the celebration and laughter, and even the trials and tears that have shaped us into who we are and put us here today.

Thank you for our teachers, administrators and peers who have helped us along the way and who have loved us so selflessly.  We know they are a gift from you and send thanks for bringing them into our lives.  Thank you for our family who constantly supports us and encourages us to follow our dreams.  There love is a reflection of yours, unconditional and everlasting.  Thank you for your grace and mercy shown to us every day.

Thank you for sending your one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we may live for you.  We would not be sitting here today without you.  May this graduation day be not only a celebration of ending this chapter of our life and starting a new life, but also a celebration of your goodness and life.  I pray as this chapter of our lives ends and a new chapter begins that we trust you with the pen, so that we may prosper and live with the joy of the Lord within us.  God, fill our minds with your thoughts, our bodies with your strength, and our hearts with your dreams, so that we can better serve you.

Give us the courage to walk boldly with you everyday and use the gifts that you have uniquely given each one of us. First Peter, chapter four, verses ten and eleven says, ‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.’”
