Jessie Williams Jr.


Homegoing services for Jessie Williams Jr., 64, of Madisonville, were held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. D.F. Johnson officiated the service, and interment was in the Tanyard Cemetery in the Tanyard Community of northeastern Madison County.

Pallbearers were DruPaul Merchant, Cornelius Merchant, Eligar Neals, Triston Whaley, Zadavion Williams, Xavier Matthews, Josh Proctor, Andre Bartley, Gavin Ford and Cameron Williams.

Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Williams, Bobby Williams, Gerome Williams, Marion Irving, Jessie Ford, Fredrick Matthews, Jason Ford, Teandre McQueen, Roy Moffett and Curtis Williams.

Jessie Lee Williams Jr. was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Lee Williams Sr. on July 2, 1954, and passed away from this life on Dec. 21, 2018.

Jessie graduated from Centerville High School in 1972. After graduation, he moved to Madisonville, where he met the love of his life, Betty. Jessie worked as a stocking associate for Carter’s Grocery, Godwins, Walmart and Evans Grocery. He was a hard worker. During times when Jessie was not working, he enjoyed watching sports, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He had lived the majority of his life in Madisonville and was a member of Bloom of Life Baptist Church in the Tanyard Community.

Jessie was preceded in death by both of his parents. He leaves to share in this great homegoing his wife, Betty Williams of Madisonville; sons, Zachary Williams of Madisonville and Gerome Williams (Kitty Randle) of Madisonville; daughters, Jeniece Williams (Teandre McQueen) of Madisonville and Jeanette Ford (Jason) of Centerville; his brothers, Jessie Ford of Trinity, Bobby Joe Williams (Elizabeth) of Lancaster and Curtis Williams (Bridgett) of Madisonville; and his sisters, Linda Matthews (Fred) of Jacksonville and Glenda F. Williams of Madisonville. Jessie is also survived by 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a special friend, Marion Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville was entrusted with final arrangements.
