Funeral services for Joyce Goff, 90, of McKinney, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Interment followed in Greenbriar Cemetery. A public visitation was held Saturday at the funeral home.
Evelyn "Joyce" Goff was born on July 13, 1925, in Bristol, to Carl Rix and Mabel (Burk) Moore. She was a graduate of Madisonville High School and worked as a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife and mother and always put her husband and children first, making sure that they were well taken care of. Mrs. Goff was an excellent seamstress and cook. She lived most of her adult life in Pasadena but had also resided in Tomball, Pinehurst and Kyle before settling in McKinney for the last three years. Mrs. Goff was a member of the Church of Christ. She passed away Jan. 12, 2016, in McKinny.
Mrs. Goff was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Glynn Goff; a daughter, Glynda DeLong; a sister, Ethel Doris Wallace; and brothers-in-law, T.W. McWhorter, Clayton Todd and Aton Wallace.
She is survived by sons, Steve (Nanette) Goff of McKinney, Gary (Jeanine) Goff of Pinehurst and Russ (Anita) Goff of Tyler; a son-in-law, Jamie DeLong of Kyle; brother, Carl (Trula) Moore of Stoneville, Mississippi and sisters, Lou McWhorter of Bandera and Jean Todd of Willis. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, plus two on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Joyce Goff request that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” at www.relayforlife.org/bksm for the team called “Glynda’s Legacy.”
