Madisonville Junior High cheerleaders recently returned from cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine and earned superior ratings, according to Coach Lori Hagaman.
“We placed second with our extreme dance routine and second with our game day cheer and then we won the championship for top squad,” Hagaman said. “Not only were we competing against other junior high squads but freshman squads as well.”
The MJH cheerleaders also won the leadership award.
“This is huge for a junior high squad to win,” Hagaman said. “It was voted on by more than 400 cheerleaders, and they chose us. This says a lot about our girls and what they brought to camp – their leadership skills, positive attitudes, friendliness, work ethic and great attitudes.”
The junior high cheerleaders were invited to play at the Buffalo Wild Wings bowl game in Orlando this year. Two students, SaiSai Ly and Paige Brown, were selected for the All-American Cheer Squad, while Paige Brown and Christasia Fite were recognized “for their leadership skills, attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.”
“I couldn’t be any prouder of this group of girls,” Hagaman said.
