Kerry Walker, Sr. was born July 17, 1947, to Louis and Evola Walker. He attended Evan E. Worthing High School and later joined the Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. While there, he earned a Purple Heart while serving his country. In 1969, his first child, Monique Walker King (Linda Walker) was born in Oakland, California. They later moved to Beeville, Texas where Kerry took up a life of construction and truck driving. Eight years later his namesake, Kerry Walker, Jr. was born. The family then moved to Brenham, Texas followed by Houston, Texas. On April 7, 1992, Kerry married Callie Dean Walker and they settled in Midway, Texas. Kerry and Callie lived a great life together and shared twenty-eight years of marriage.

On April 16, 2020, Kerry Louis Walker, Sr. gained his wings. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Glen Walker. Kerry leaves behind his wife, Callie Walker; two children, Monique Walker King and Kerry Walker, Jr. (wife, Kenitia); step-sons, Fredrick Johnson and Cleon Johnson, whom Kerry raised as his own; brothers, Richard Walker, Keith Walker (wife, Bertha), Ray Walker (wife, Bernadette), Earl Walker (wife, Marva); sisters, Linda Walker, Mary Walker, Gwen Walker, Brenda Youngblood (husband, Earl) and Gloria Walker and sister-in-law, Renee Walker. He is also cherished by many grandkids and great-grandkids and lets not forget a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services for Kerry were held 1 P.M. Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Tanyard Cemetery in Midway, Texas. Bro. Claude Nealy officiated the service.
