Lady Bulldogs fall in district play

Basketball can be a funny game. One moment you can be up double digits and feel completely in control. The next minute you’re down and cannot find your way back to the lead.

Such happened to the North Zulch girls’ Tuesday at home as the Somerville Yeguas stormed back from a one-point halftime deficit to beat the Lady Bulldogs 56-44.

Somerville got off to a red-hot start leading the Bulldogs 12-2 after the first quarter, but North Zulch came roaring back outscoring Somerville in the second quarter, 22-9 and taking a one-point lead at the half. The Lady Bulldogs couldn’t maintain the lead after intermission behind 24 points from Somerville shooting guard Gabby Kovasovic.

North Zulch (7-13) continued their slump Friday on the road falling to Snook, 44-27.
