The Madisonville volleyball team had the night off Friday, as three players were in the running for Homecoming Queen.
Karla Villagrana was crowned at halftime during the Mustang football game Friday night.
Volleyball players Tyana Brown, Lexi Leveston and Tra’Dayja Smith did not receive a crown but were class acts on the field representing the school’s Homecoming Court.
Earlier last week, the volleyball team picked up its second district win, bringing their overall record to 19-12.
The Lady Mustangs beat Palestine in three sets, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-17.
Senior Tyana Brown has 87 spikes and 151 kills, with a hitting percentage of 0.192. Quincey Surface also has posted 87 spikes this season, along with 183 kills and a hitting percentage of 0.183. Camryn Frederick has 74 spikes, 104 kills and a hitting percentage of 0.088.
Also leading the pack is Tra’Dayja Smith with 87 spikes, 147 kills and a hitting percentage of 0.079. Senior Lexi Leveston has 86 spikes, 148 kills and a 0.199 hitting percentage.
The Lady Mustangs play at Athens on Friday night.
