After struggling to score runs in recent games, the offense for the Madisonville softball team came to life last Tuesday against conference rival Palestine. The Lady Mustangs dominated the plate defeating the Wildcats, 17-2.
“I thought the girls were finally able to see, physically see, that they can do it,” said coach Segler after her team’s 17-run performance.
“I know that they have the ability to turn it on and dominate their opponents. They just finally got to see it for themselves.”
Segler hopes a dominant performance like this, will propel her team moving forward.
“I’m hoping [this win] really drives the girls for the second half of district.”
The Lady Mustangs will be on the road Friday in Athens. Opening pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
