Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

This summer I worked as a custodian for the Madisonville CISD after teaching school for the last 15 years. It was a very eye-opening experience for me. Through the years, I appreciated that my school and classroom were always clean but I never really stopped to thank the people who made it happen. The custodians are the hardest-working people in any school district but especially here in Madisonville. They work tirelessly all year long to make the school nice for both teachers and students. When school starts this year, please take the time to thank your custodians for all that they do for everyone. Encourage your children to pick up after themselves and not create unnecessary work

for others. All of the custodians, especially the district lead custodian, Elizabeth Alvarado, deserve your thanks and your respect.

To the Editor:

You can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. This is a perfect description of Donald Trump, who marches to his own drummer, adheres to his own set of morals, and has seduced millions of Americans into believing that his tremendous brain and business acumen are just what the country needs.

Now Donald Trump is playing on the fears of Republican gun owners saying that a President Hillary Clinton would take their guns away. Liar, liar, pants on fire! But, the worst part of Donald's lie is that some loner could believe it, act on it, creating a tragic reality.

At the end of the day, when Trump takes the lipstick off his expressive, puckery lips, he's still an amoral liar, bigot and con man. Do you really want this man to be president of the United States and representing you?
