BRYAN — A 45-year-old Madisonville man was killed Monday in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 21 just east of Earl Rudder Freeway.
At 11:15 a.m., officers from the Bryan Police Department, as well as emergency personnel, were called to the 3600 block of East State Highwat 21 following a single vehicle accident.
The vehicle, a Toyota SUV driven by Douglas Deshan Johnson, was traveling westbound when it left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
The driver was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Reports indicate that it is not immediately known what caused the accident; however, weather could have been a factor as it was raining at the time.
Officials state the investigation into the crash is continuing.
