The Mustang soccer team fared well in the Brenham tournament over the weekend, winning three out of five games and taking fourth place overall in the tourney.

In tournament play, the boys beat Bellaire 2-0 with goals from Parras and Aceves and an assist from Parras. The team shut out Caldwell 3-0 with goals from Dixon Veliz, Josue Hernandez and Parras, with assists from Diego Guevara and Hernandez.

In the final game of tournament play, Madisonville tied Chavez, 1-1. Jose Cisneros scored with an assist from Christian Quiroz.
“The boys played really well,” said Head Coach Baltazar Reyes. “I am really proud of them.”
The JV team beat Navasota last week 2-0 with goals by Antonio Penaloza and Victor Robles, with an assist from Clayton Fraley.
The team fell short, however, in tournament play, dropping a pair of games to Brazosport (1-0) and Langham Creek (4-0).
The girls soccer team lost 12-1 at Bellville on Friday.
“We forgot to show up in the first half,” said Head Coach Lauren Lindsey. “We played much better in the second half. Ashley Surber scored our first goal of the year in the second half.”
