The Bedias Volunteer Fire Department Annual Fish Fry and Auction last Saturday, Oct. 15, was another great success. Thank you to everyone who came out, who donated funds and for donating all of those auction items.
This Saturday, Oct. 22, is the 11th annual fundraiser for Make-A-Christmas-Happen in Grimes County. This event will be held at Yankee’s Tavern in Carlos. The day will be filled with games, a silent auction, a live auction at 1 p.m., and a bike show. Live music will be playing throughout the day by the Brazos Valley All Star Band. Bring a non-perishable food item and receive a door prize ticket.
Make-A-Christmas Happen (MACH) is a group of local friends who have been helping nominate families in Grimes County who are going through a tough time. MACH makes sure every child truly does have a happy Christmas. Families are given gifts, new furniture, appliances and everything possible for a great Christmas feast.
Additionally, donations are given to supply the Sunshine Senior Center, the three Food Banks in Grimes County, various charities, and local organizations.
Come out and join the fun! Remember, the more you give, the more they can help. Donations are always appreciated at any time. You may call Becky Whaley for more information, or to donate, 936-577-0993.
