Margarita Hernandez, 62, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Madisonville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville. The Rev. Michael Barone will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Madisonville City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary from 7-8 p.m. at the church.
Margarita Hernandez was born on Nov. 7, 1953, in Acuna, Coahuild, Mexico, to Arnulfo Garza and Ramona Ramirez. She was a housewife her whole life and always had hot, cooked meals on the table everyday for her family. Margarita loved her family and enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed dancing and having parties. Her hobbies included cooking, shopping and traveling. She also liked singing in church. Margarita was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and had lived in Madisonville for the past 34 years.
Margarita was preceded in death by both of her parents. Surviving family members include her husband, Hermeregildo Hernandez of Madisonville; a son, Antonio Hernandez of Madisonville; two daughters, Adriana Reyes and Anabel Bird of Madisonville; two brothers, Arnulfo Garza and Mario Alberto Garza Ramirez of Mexico; and two sisters, Idalia Summers and Gloria Estella Garcia of Madisonville. Margarita also is survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of all arrangements.
