The Madisonville CISD school board welcomed all of the district’s new teachers to their monthly board meeting for September on Monday night.
Principals from each campus read a brief background of each new educator and what brought them to Madisonville. Before the board meeting officially got underway, all of the new staff members posed for a photo together.
The board then carried a motion to approve an inter-local agreement between the district and Madison County to fix up Raney Lane. The current plan for fixing the road is that it will be done over Columbus Day weekend, which would give the workers an extra day to complete the project without school in session. The district will fund 40 percent of the project.
The board also reviewed their student enrollment for the 2018-19 school year. While the exact number is always subject to change, the district is up 60 students from a year ago with 2,395 currently enrolled. This year will also be the largest graduating class in the history of Madisonville High School.
The monthly board meeting for October will take place on Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
In other business, the board:
Approved minutes for regular board meeting on Aug. 13 and called meetings on Aug. 27 and Sept. 5
Approved DAEP resolution agreements
