Funeral services for Mildred Margaret Pyle-Walker, 80, of Madisonville, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Madisonville. Brother Mark Trichel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Madisonville City Cemetery. Visitation hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Madisonville Funeral Home.
Mildred Margaret Pyle-Walker went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 10, 2016. She was born July 20, 1935, in Madisonville, to Floy and Grace Pyle.
She was a loving, caring, sacrificing mother, wife, and friend. She worked at House Medical Clinic in Killeen before receiving her bachelor’s degree from The University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She was an English professor for five years at CTC in Killeen, and she ended her working career and retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville and every Sunday she would also play the piano for numerous nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Walker; and a sister, Barbara Brown.
Mildred is survived by her children, John Housman, of Hilltop Lakes, Diana Schultz and her husband, Richard, of Temple, and Kristye Hinds and her husband, Jeffrey, of Temple; six grandchildren, Haley Newton and husband, Hunter, of Heflin, Ala., John Austin Housman of Hiram, Ga., and Richard Andrew Schultz, Misty Schultz, Ryanne Schultz and Isabella Hinds, all of Temple; five great-grandchildren: Emerson and Harper Newton, Noah and Jonah Schultz, and Ledger Schultz; a sister, Patricia Gore and husband, Albert, of Bridge City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Howard Brown, Ralph Brown, Travis Brown, James Gustine Richard, Jeffery Hinds and Richard Schultz.
