After dominate performances, meet after meet, the Madisonville Mustangs’ powerlifting season has come to an end.
Both Bryce Roundtree and Joey Mclver competed in the regional meet in Malakoff, but fell short of state qualification.
Roundtree finished ninth out of 12 competitors, lifting 570 pounds total in the 114-pound weight class.
Mclver had a tenth place finish in the super heavy division, lifting 1,235 pounds total.
“I thought both boys really competed well,” said coach Lu Olvera. “The guys worked hard all season and really did a great job representing MHS. Our goal next year is to qualify for state.”
